ASSISTANT OPERATIONS ENGINEER
Welland and Deepings IDB have an exciting position available for an Assistant Operations Engineer, this will be a diverse role within the Board.
Welland & Deepings IDB is a local land drainage authority situated in south Lincolnshire. The Board covers an area of 32,400 hectares from Sutterton to Peterborough. Further details can be found on the Board’s website at www.wellandidb.org.uk.
Experience in Asset and Project Management and the CDM Regulations 2015 would be beneficial, alongside strong communication and IT skills. This role requires the individual to be self-motivated, flexible, capable of working on their own initiative as well as working as part of an established friendly team. A key requirement of the position will be to assist the Operations Engineer and team during heavy rainfall events and emergency events during unsociable hours, including weekends. The role also involves a mix of office based and field/site work as required.
Welland and Deepings IDB hold strong ethics to health and safety and the Applicant will be NEBOSH qualified and preferably hold an SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
The starting salary for the position is £45,152, based on a 37 hour week. Employees are eligible to join the Lincolnshire Pension Fund career average pension scheme. Annual holiday entitlement starts at 29 days, rising to 33 days after five years’ service.
A full clean driving licence and own transport is essential. A monthly essential user allowance of £274.15 is paid for own vehicle use along with a 45p a mile allowance.
The successful applicant will be required to work in harmony, supporting colleagues and will become a key member of an effective team. The Board’s policies and the law in relation to Health and Safety, Financial Regulations, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and other adopted policies and procedures are also expected to be upheld. Training will be given where required.
